Beliefs continued

I love how I feel in the gym.  I am more confident and secure in the gym than anywhere else.  I could walk into any gym and grab some dumbbells and feel right at home.  Lifting weights has given me that.  I was trained by a bodybuilder, so I learned to do things right from day one.  I trained in a dark, rusty, sweaty gym for years and don’t remember ever seeing another woman there.  There were simple rules.  Lift heavy.  Keep your form strict.  Throw your weights at the end of your set and grunting or yelling through those last reps was perfectly acceptable.  Thanks Dennis for changing my life.

I become a different person when I start to train.  I’m not a mom anymore.  I’m not a housewife.  I feel strong, empowered & confident.  I like to think of this side of me as ‘My Evil Twin’.  She’s not evil, but she’s tough and sexy.  She’s a side of me that I don’t get to show very often.  She’s not trying to cover up her muscles.  She celebrates them.  Flaunts them.  She’s the Diva in me.

I want to show everyone that you can have the body you want if you just make better choices.  I want to show women that they don’t have to wear ‘mom jeans’ and wear shirts that hide their belly.  It seems difficult to change the way you eat, but it really is easier than you think.  My friends and I are happy to help anyone who wants to live healthier and it is so much easier when you have a support system.  I want to be the support, the motivation and the cheerleader for anyone who is ready to make a change.

I have to take control of my health; no one is going to do it for me.  The side effect of eating a clean diet is a smokin’ hot body…….I can live with that.
